Our house

Patti and I looked for land to buy and found exactly what we wanted in rural Louisiana. After buying the land and doing some cleaning, it had several dumps on it, we found the spot for the house. The spot was a slope so we decided to build on pillers and a multilevel house. The foundation was started, we dug holes laid concrete blocks all summer, on wekends and vacation time. We had sold the house in the city and moved into an apartment. The garage was the first thing to be built, so we lived in a motor home for rest room and cooking facilities and slept in the garage, after moving out of the apartment and storing everything in a storage building. After the house was roofed we moved onto a screened-in-back porch for sleeping, one restroom was also finished. So now, cooking in the motor home, sleeping on the porch, and using one of the rest rooms. Finally the last piece of carpet was laid, the last drop of paint was put on, we moved into the house, joy, joy.

We have almost 40 acres and all kinds of wildlife, have even seen a red wolf, heard a lot that we didn't see, bobtail cats, coyotes, and etc.

I will show you some pictures so you can see the house.
